Dear Portola Parents,

Yes, it's right around the corner: school year '09 - '10!

I want to start the year with an enormous thank you to our Registration Committee: Ione Bell, Nancy Gordon, and Kara De La Paz. These three moms first met with Ms. Van Hook last spring, then continued working on Registration throughout the summer . . .

They simplified some of the documents, printed and stuffed packets, recruited volunteers, made signs, decorated the gym, AND were on site during the three days of Registration. What a positive difference your hard work made! Bravo, Ione, Nancy, and Kara!

If you didn't come to Registration, please come to Portola as soon as possible to get your child's Registration packet, and complete it ASAP. The Portola office is open 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

We volunteers were able to help nearly 425 Portola students get registered--- wahoo!

That means, however, that there are still at least 200 students that need to get registered. If they get registered before August 25, then our students and teachers can get down to business --- the business of learning! --- right away. So, register your child, if you haven't, and if you have, watch for the PTSA messages here about how you can help those families that need help getting registered.
