... We got good news on the School Closure front (hooray!) but other schools did not survive the cuts. Our district community as a whole is under tremendous stress and now required layoff notices are being given to all our most recently hired staff members. These are sad and difficult times for those who care about, and for, children in California. Remember our theme this year, “We are better together!” and join this next gathering of terrific Portola parents, staff, and students on March 10 at 7 p.m. We will learn the latest about our buildings and make some important budget decisions about buying supplies for our staff to get them through the end of the year. Remember students and siblings are always welcome, and this meeting will include refreshments. ...
