I hope everyone had a restful holiday vacation. We are continuing our quest for a safe, positive climate and high academic learning environment . . .

Monday, January 18th school will be closed for Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. There will be a parade and rally, which is being cosponsored by WCCUSD, City of El Cerrito Human Relations Commission, NAACP and St. Peter’s C.M.E church. People gather at 9:00 a.m., march at 9:30 and have a rally at ECHS at 10:30 a.m. PTSA president, Joanna Pace is willing to lead a Portola contingent (see newsletter).

Tuesday, January 19th is a school holiday for students as well. It will be a work day for teachers as they will be marking 2nd quarter report card grades.
