Portola PTSA 1021 Navellier St. El Cerrito 94530 Tax ID 94-6173241 Portola Community - Help us raise funds for Portola!We need the help of the Portola Community to raise money this year for educational and recreational school activities, our new Noontime Activities Program, classroom equipment and supplies, emergency preparedness supply kits for each classroom, communications, and teacher and parent education programs. You don't need to be a PTSA member in order to make donations or volunteer your skills, although we'd really like you to join because it would help us when we apply for grants to show we have a large and active PTSA membership. We welcome monetary donations in the form of checks, cash, or money orders, as well as donations of materials and equipment in good condition (see Wish List), any time during the school year.Donations are tax deductible (Portola PTSA’s tax ID number is 94-6173241) and documentation in the form of a thank you letter will be provided upon request. If you want to earmark funds or materials/equipment for a special purpose or teacher, please specify this at the time you make the donation. Checks and money orders should be made out to Portola PTSA. Monetary donations can be mailed to the school office (1021 Navellier St., El Cerrito 94530) or dropped off at the office. Put ATTN: Portola PTSA (NGordon) on the envelope. Please be sure to include your name, address, phone number, and email address with your donation so that we can get back to you with an acknowledgment. We will also have special fundraisers and a Direct Appeal during the year. Here are some other no- or low- cost ways you can help us raise funds year-round:Boxtops for Education (BFE) symbols are worth 10¢ each to our school.They are found on many products, e.g. Kleenex boxes, Betty Crocker baking products, Pillsbury refrigerator rolls, Cheerios, Huggies, Hefty, Ziploc bags. For a full list of participating projects, see the attached list. Clip BFE symbols from packages and send them in to school. Many adults don't want to take the time to hunt and clip, but this is a great kid project and a great way to get kids involved in community service relevant to them. They can ask friends, neighbors, and other relatives to collect with them. If every Portola student collected 100 Boxtops symbols during the year, we'd be able to earn over $6000! Register your red Safeway Card at www.eScrip.com.Group name: Portola. eScrip ID: 145162830Contact Nancy Gordon (nancypgordon@yahoo.com or 528-4408) if you want more information or need help registering. Safeway donates 1-3% of grocery purchases throughout the year, depending on how much you spend each month. IMPORTANT: Even if you registered your Safeway card for Portola last year, you must confirm your Portola registration at the eScrip website by November so that we continue to receive credit. Also, if you have kids in more than one school, you can register for both schools and your purchase credits will be split between schools. Encourage other extended family members, co-workers, friends, neighbors, fellow churchgoers, club members, etc. to register their Safeway cards for Portola also. They don’t need to have a student at Portola to do this, and it will help us a lot. Register your credit cards at www.eScrip.com using that same Portola eScrip ID and we’ll get a percentage of your charges at other participating businesses, including Andronico’s (1-4%), Barnes & Noble (4.2%), Eddie Bauer (5%), and Macy’s (1%). Encourage other family members and people you know to do this also. Get a Lucky SHARES cards barcoded for Portola from the school office or by contacting Nancy Gordon (nancypgordon@yahoo.com or 528-4408). Lucky’s will donate 3% of the value of your qualified purchases to Portola (vs. Safeway's 1%). You need to present the card for scanning or use in the self-checkout scanner in order for us to get credit. You can't request this card or change schools that are credited online. Register your Target Red Card using Portola’s ID # 34680Register with OneCause.com (www.onecause.com) for web-based shopping.Portola’s ID # is 124149.Portola’s Pizza Roma fundraiser is the 1st Friday of every month.Pizza Roma donates 25¢ of every net dollar spent on the 1st Friday of every month to Portola, but only if you mention you want Portola credited when you order.
